DBAN
DBAN — Darik’s boot and nuke — website is now basically a big advertisement for some other software. You can still find DBAN, and it is relatively trivial to use, but still not as easy as it might be.
Depending on what encryption you have, might be pretty easy.
Android v. iOS
Two-factor authentication: back up it / turn it off first!
If you use 2FA, you may need to disable this on each service, and then set it up again on your new device. Check before you wipe your device.
Otherwise, you might lock yourself out of your online services.
